NOMINATIONS for the 2017 Bloggers Bash Awards are now LIVE #MondayBlogs #BloggersBash @bloggersbash

The Bloggers Bash is now less than 2 months away, which means the ABBAs (Annual Bloggers Bash Awards) are back! Every year, we run a set of awards nominated and voted for by you.

And if you don’t know what the Bloggers Bash is, DAMN you should. It’s an annual get-together for all bloggers from all platforms from all over the world, although it’s hosted in London. Wanna come meet your blogging buddies? Get your ticket here.

Each year we stage a two-step awards ceremony.

STAGE 1 – You ‘NOMINATE’ who you would like to see listed in each category.

STAGE 2 – You vote for your fave bloggers.

Now, a word of warning before you get nomination happy. Last year, lots of you did not read the rules or provide the correct information. That led to my poor committee needing to take a full week to track down the information for all the nominated bloggers. We are a non-profit, voluntary group of chappettes, therefore I have taken the decision as big boss lady Sacha that we will automatically disqualify any nomination that comes in with:

  • Either the wrong information
  • Incomplete nomination
  • Or breaks the rules listed below.

We will not chase you for missing information and we will not notify you of any errors. It is your responsibility when nominating to triple check the rules and the nomination entry.

Okay, now that’s over let me give you the rules:

  1. Complete the nominations form at the bottom of this post – it will ping an email to the bash inbox, job done. It will only allow you to nominate for one award at a time, sorry, but that’s the way it is, if you want to nominate in every category you’ll need to fill it out several times.
  2. Information Required: Your name, the website address of the blogger you are nominating, the name of the blogger’s website (This is the name that will be on the listing, if the nominator gets it wrong, tough). Last, the category you are entering them for.
  3. The committee members cannot be nominated. Members include: Sacha, Geoff le Pard, Ali Isaac and Hugh Roberts
  4. If you do not submit the required information, your nomination will be disqualified.
  5. You cannot nominate yourself.
  6. To ensure a spread of winners, you can only win in one category. Therefore, if you are nominated in more than one category we will attempt to contact you to ask what category you would prefer to be in. If you don’t want to choose, or we cannot reach you, then the committee will decide for you.

  7. You can only nominate ONCE in EACH category.

  8. You can only vote once in each category

  9. You can only win three years running. Should you win for three consecutive years, you will be not be eligible to be nominated the following year – sozberries, but we want the awards to recognise as many bloggers as possible.
  10. NOMINATIONS CLOSE 8th MAY at midnight

This award is for the blogger you think has the best overall blog. Who is the blogger that excels in a variety of categories? Perhaps they’re sociable and engage with readers, maybe they share other posts, or do they have a writing style that keeps you coming back time and time again?

Whoever you choose needs to be an all-rounder. A blogger that is head and shoulders above the rest.

Which blogger always makes you laugh so hard you peed a lil’ bit? Or maybe you laughed so hard you cried or snorted drink through your schnoz. You get the picture, who’s the funny fucker in the bloggisphere?

Who inspires you? Is there a blogger that’s thought provoking and inquisitive? Or perhaps they’re a muse to you with the constant provision of inspirational content or imagery. Who’s the one blogger that touched your heart? This is the nomination for them.

This award is for the blogger with the most informative (and importantly, original) content. Who creates fascinating content? Perhaps they’re a history blogger or a blogger who writes about writing craft, or maybe they like archaeology or wine tasting. They could be an artist or musician. The topic is irrelevant, what were looking for is a blogger who shares the wealth of knowledge they have in an informative way.

Who do you find yourself longing to read because of their useful content? This is the nomination for them.

Which book reviewer do you love? This isn’t about being prolific with reviews, but about the quality of them. Who’s the most thoughtful reviewer? Perhaps their thoughts on a book persuaded you to read it, maybe they use their blog as a platform for authors as well, or perhaps you love them for their scathing honesty!

Whoever you choose to nominate in this category, please ensure their blogs are predominantly book review blogs.

Who’s the kindest blogger of them all? Which blogger goes out of their way to help others? Maybe someone helped you kick-start your blog with tutorials or maybe they continually reblog your posts. Perhaps someone consistently provides useful posts on how to boost your blog. Or maybe you want to nominate someone who provides a platform for others.

Who do you want to thank for their dedication to other bloggers?

Which blog doesn’t get the notoriety they deserve? Maybe you stumbled upon them by chance and discovered a minefield of information. Maybe they make you smile or have such an original style you can’t help but read their posts.

Who would you like to have the limelight for a change? This is the award for them.

This is for bloggers who have been blogging less than a year. So bloggers who joined the bloggisphere after 1st June 2016

Who joined the bloggisphere with a bang? Perhaps they are funny, or well designed, or maybe their posts make you smile time after time. Whatever the reason, this category is for newbie bloggers that deserve recognition.

Which blogger do you want to go to the pub with? Or maybe have dinner with? Who never fails to reply to comments, and has thoughtful things to say? Maybe they encourage the community through weekly challenges or blog parties. Who wouldn’t the blogging world be the same without? This is the category for them.

    1. Sally – could you pop it in an email? I actually forgot the category box on the form (corrected that early) but we did have a handful of noms come in before I caught the error. Could you just send me a personal note saying who it was for ajd the category then im sure to pick it up

  1. So excited to be able to help with this one. Won’t be able to attend this year — finances are not quite as budgeted this year! 🙁 Can’t wait to read all the blog posts about the Bash this year though. We had such a blast last year!!

  2. Very exciting! It’s so wonderful that you do this- thank you! One question & apologies for being incredibly dense, but how do I find out the email addresses of my nominees without directly asking them? Cheers!

    1. You would need to ask them directly – perhaps you dont have to tell them why. Failing that, if they have commented on your blog their address will be in your dashboard comments section

      1. I put the persons name and not the blog name. You would know who it was I guess but I knows I broke the rules so it is what it is.
Next year can there be a Worlds stupidest Blogger just for me 🙂 lol

      1. Currently Bonnie Scotland, not that that would stop me from coming because it’s only a train hop away and on the night in question I will be in the south of England but I have a family wedding on that exact same night. I’ll be there in spirit though. If I am free next year I would be there for sure, but I never like to plan too far ahead in case of sudden adventure 🙂

    1. Have they ever left you a comment? Their addresses can be found in the comments section in your dashboard (the old style WP dashboard) other wise are you able to contact them at all?

  3. Traumatised!!!! There are SOOOO many incredible blogs I want to nominate. Really looking forward to attending the bash this year again, hopefully I’ll get to speak to everyone this time. 🙂

  4. Nominations are closed as we speak l was too late to note this but I will be sure to enter and nominate others as well

When are the next awards expected and where do l find results for this one ?

Thank you Sasha for providing this amazing platform for blogger and readers !

    1. Hi,

Thanks for visiting. The awards are Annual, so nominations won’t be open again until next year. However, the results will be released here on the 10th June between 5 and 6pm (BST). We also announce them at a ceremony in London, called the annual bloggers bash where bloggers get together too. If you’re interested tickets are £10

  5. Please Sacha Black, could you provide a link to the list of nominees, so that those of us that were not able to make nominations can scan the list for our favorite bloggers?
    Thank you.
