Sacha Black: Author, Podcaster and Speaker
Sacha Black is a bestselling author, podcaster, and professional speaker. She writes educational nonfiction books for writers, sapphic books for Young Adults and fiction under a secret pen name. She lives in Cambridgeshire, England, with her wife and son.
Speaking Topics
These are the types of topics that Sacha can deliver talks on. They are suitable for full-day events, or as shorter sessions within a full-day event.
Writing craft — including crafting better villains, heroes, protagonist and antagonists. How to improve your sentence level prose, how to read with intention and purpose, how to deconstruct a novel and learn from it.
How to leave your job for a creative business — lots of us dream of leaving our jobs, but unless we set up and establish a business, that won’t happen. Before you leave a salaried role you need multiple streams of income, financial security, a balance of passive and active income and a plan for scaling your business.
How to create a business around your book (fiction or nonfiction) — a book isn’t just one product. You can turn your book into multiple products from ebooks, paperbacks, audiobooks, hardback and large prints. But why stop there? If you write nonfiction you can turn your books into workbooks and use them to become an expert in your field and gain speaking gigs. If you write fiction, you can produce merchandise, sell translation rights and more. Writing ‘The End’ isn’t the end for your business.
Self-Publishing — including all aspect of the journey, setting up your author business, wide vs exclusive, how to build a readership, how to build a business around a book for nonfiction etc.
Sacha is also happy to speak on a number of other topics, please contact her with your pitch.

Testimonials
“Your descriptions, enthusiasm, and content are amazing. It wouldn’t have taken me 50 years to start writing if I’d had an English teacher like you in high school.” CL
“I interviewed Sacha about “How to make a living from your writing and go full-time” for an online conference I hosted and she was a wonderful speaker. Not only was she a joy to interview, the information she gave was on point, of high quality and extremely actionable. Her experience and extensive knowledge is apparent. Attendees’ feedback on her session was overwhelmingly positive and I’d be happy to have her on again for events in future!” Karen Ferreira, founder of Children’s Book Mastery
“I’m so happy that Sacha Black spoke at my online summit, “Style and Voice.” Sacha gave a dynamic, compelling presentation that instantly became one of the highlights of the event. She explained complex, intriguing ideas about writing and storytelling in a relaxed, affable manner, using practical, detailed examples. In fact, her way of addressing the topic struck exactly the tone that, as host, I wanted for the entire event. Attendees commented how much they enjoyed her talk and how easy it was to learn from her.
Additionally, she was a consummate professional in the run up to the event: easy to work with, quick to respond to questions, and she even recommended another speaker who turned out to be perfect for the theme of the summit. Sometimes I would find myself saying, ‘I really need to remind the presenters to do [the next important thing],’ and I would check Sacha’s speaker dashboard to find she had not only already done it, but had gone above and beyond everyone else.
It’s obvious why she has built up an enthusiastic, devoted following. I strongly recommend Sacha Black as a speaker. In fact, you should move fast before someone else books her.” Daniel Wallace, Author and Founder of the Style and Voice Summit
