2017 Annual Bloggers Bash Awards VOTING OPEN @bloggersbash #BloggersBash

This is it. The waiting is finally over.

The THIRD Annual Bloggers Bash Awards 2017 are now OPEN FOR VOTING.

We had a HUGE number of nominations. Hundreds of them in fact! So thank you to everyone who took the time to nominate your fave bloggers.

Voting Closes June 2nd at 12pm. The winners will be announced on June 10th at the Bash in London. But if you can’t make it physically a winners post will go live at 5:15pm (BST) on the same day. Winners will have pingbacks to their blogs, but we all know how unreliable that is. So please make sure you check back to see if you won.

If you haven’t bought your ticket for the meet up yet, you can do so here.

TO THE VOTERS Choose carefully, you can only vote ONCE per award. There are 10 awards, (so this is a long post). Yes, you can vote in each category, but only once in every one.

TO THE NOMINEES – Good luck to you all. Every nomination is really well deserved and as a result, this year we are doing things a little differently. Winners will have their prizes and certificates shipped to them as well as their winner’s badges emailed. However, all nominees will be entitled to a Bloggers Bash nominee badge once the voting is over.

Don’t forget to follow all the fun in our Facebook group, on Twitter, or using the Hashtag #BloggersBash. We also have a mailing list which ALWAYS gives you the most up to date info before anyone else.

Disclaimer: The committee has done their best to coordinate the nominations and to ensure, where possible, we gave nominees a choice of which category they wanted to be in. Due to time constraints and limited resources, this may not have always been possible. In addition, the committee is not responsible for the quality of information nominators gave. The committee uses the information it is given. This year we specifically requested the ‘NAME OF YOUR BLOG’ not your first name. Therefore this is what we are displaying. If your name has been displayed incorrectly, you can contact us and request a change by emailing annualbloggersbash@yahoo.co.uk. While the committee will endeavor to make changes promptly we neither guarantee to make those changes nor do we guarantee to do so in a certain time frame.

Please note, there is usually a large number of comments on this post. Therefore, all the committee will be helping to respond to comments as I’ll be at work when this goes live!

NOMINATIONS for the 2017 Bloggers Bash Awards are now LIVE #MondayBlogs #BloggersBash @bloggersbash

The Bloggers Bash is now less than 2 months away, which means the ABBAs (Annual Bloggers Bash Awards) are back! Every year, we run a set of awards nominated and voted for by you.

And if you don’t know what the Bloggers Bash is, DAMN you should. It’s an annual get-together for all bloggers from all platforms from all over the world, although it’s hosted in London. Wanna come meet your blogging buddies? Get your ticket here.

Each year we stage a two-step awards ceremony.

STAGE 1 – You ‘NOMINATE’ who you would like to see listed in each category.

STAGE 2 – You vote for your fave bloggers.

WARNING – MUST BE READ BEFORE NOMINATING

Now, a word of warning before you get nomination happy. Last year, lots of you did not read the rules or provide the correct information. That led to my poor committee needing to take a full week to track down the information for all the nominated bloggers. We are a non-profit, voluntary group of chappettes, therefore I have taken the decision as big boss lady Sacha that we will automatically disqualify any nomination that comes in with:

  • Either the wrong information
  • Incomplete nomination
  • Or breaks the rules listed below.

We will not chase you for missing information and we will not notify you of any errors. It is your responsibility when nominating to triple check the rules and the nomination entry.

Okay, now that’s over let me give you the rules:

5 Obnoxious Questions People Ask Writers

Today, I have a guest post from the wonderful Sarah E. Boucher, we met through Twitter, and have regular chats about all things writerly. She has two books, Midnight Sisters and Becoming Beauty, both twisted fairytale retellings. I can’t wait to read them.

If you fancy a proper giggle, you have to read this. So without further ado, over to Sarah. Continue reading

LAST REMINDER – BLOGGERS BASH COMP CLOSING TOMORROW

This is your FINAL WARNING. The Bloggers Bash Blog competition is closing tomorrow. If you want to enter to win a HUGE goody bag of blogging awesomeness, then you better get your entries in now.

There are just 24 hours to enter. The Competition closes at midnight tomorrow.

For the details of the competition and how to enter, you can check out the post here.

The BASH, REBRANDED! #MondayBlogs

I can’t quite believe it, but the bash is nearly three years old. *Weeps with pride*

Each year it continues to grow in size which means what we do needs to grow in size too.

Sure, it’s a big blog social, but that doesn’t mean we don’t take it seriously. What started out as one nosy blogger more desperate to meet the friends she’d made online than stay safe and introverted behind the screen, is slowly turning a beast.

One day, I hope, the BASH will be a huge blogging festival. I can dream, right? Besides, I brainwashed the minions into obedience before they knew what they were signing up to and I have plans to recruit more. SHHH, they’ll never know.

So this year, we decided to overhaul the Bash, logos and all. The lovely George Grey, used by both Geoff and Hugh for their cover designs, has upped the BASH anti and given us a much slicker look.

Ladies and gents, the new bash logo… Continue reading

The BIG BASH COMPETITION 2017

GOOOOOOOODMORNING bloggisphere… It’s the start of another year, and what a year it’s going to be. I have a little tickle in my tummy about 2017, and it’s screaming sparkle and glitter.

I know I shouldn’t shout, but I’m excited, what can I say? I expect all you drunkards have raging hangovers. But clear that ethanol fog blogettes, I have a super exciting announcement… and no… I haven’t published my book… not yet anyway.

The Bloggers Bash already has a venue, and now, drum roll, please…

It has a competition too. Continue reading

4 Top Tips For Self-Publishing Your First Book With @Pokercubster

Self pub tipsWriters have a shit load of decisions to make:

Who to kill today, knife em or hang em, daily word count totals, book prices, whether to drown your book blurbing sorrows with vodka or wine… the list goes on.

But one of the biggest of all decisions of all is whether you’re going to run the rat race to traditional publishing, or  push the shiny red button yourself and claim the indie badge.

I made my decision. My blood runs thick with indie colours.

Publishers have their place, I’ll never see my books in a store *weeps* but that sure as shit ain’t enough of a reason for me to go begging book in hand to their doorstep.

Maybe there will come a time when I might need them and I’ll wander up tail between my word covered thighs. But I haven’t slaved over my book for two sodding years, only to be told what cover I’m having, or when I can market or change the price or a myriad other things that would piss me off and I certainly ain’t accepting the 79p pittance for a book sale.

When this goes live, I’ll be in Paris, so your comments might be delayed in appearing.

Today’s lovely guest is the gorgeous and totally glam, Debby. Someone who has become a dear friend to me through the blogging world and one I truly hope to meet her.

Debby is a self-published author who has taught me more than a thing or two over the time I’ve known her. Today she’s giving us top tips on self-publishing.
